Matamir Zone (Opened April 2026)
The Matamir expansion is the park’s largest addition since opening, themed around the Lost City storyline. It added 11 new attractions across a dedicated zone:
Matamir’s Drop — The UAE’s tallest waterslide at over 40 metres, with a 233-metre run. The centrepiece of the new zone.
Sahel Matamir — A freefall tube racer slide with near-vertical drops.

Opening Hours
Saturday to Wednesday: 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Thursday: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM (annual passholders only), 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM (general admission). Friday: 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM (Ladies and children only — men are not admitted on Fridays). Hours are subject to seasonal changes, particularly during Ramadan and summer.
How to Get There from Dubai
Yas Waterworld is located on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. The drive from Dubai city centre takes approximately 70–90 minutes (115 km) via Sheikh Zayed Road and the E11 highway. Free parking is available at the park. A valet service costs AED 40.
From Abu Dhabi city centre, the drive is approximately 22 minutes. RTA bus route 218 stops at Yas Leisure Drive/Water World, a 6-minute walk from the entrance.
What to Bring
Appropriate swimwear is mandatory — no denim, metal buckles, zippers, or regular underwear permitted on rides. Waterproof swim diapers are required for infants and can be purchased at the park gift shop. Sunscreen and hats are recommended as this is an outdoor park. No outside food or beverages, glass items, or coolers are allowed.
Lockers and Facilities
The park has approximately 2,500 wristband-activated lockers. Oversized luggage can be stored at the Guest Services desk: AED 45 for 1–2 pieces, AED 90 for 3–4 pieces, AED 135 for 6 pieces. Towels are available for rent. Private cabanas along Amwaj Beach can be booked for 4 or 6 people starting from AED 599, including towels and food and beverage delivery service.
Electronic wristbands serve as locker keys and cashless payment. Load credit at Guest Services and get a refund for any unused balance at the end of the day.

The cooler months from October to March are the most comfortable for this outdoor park. Weekdays see significantly fewer crowds than weekends. Arriving at opening time (10:00 AM) gives the shortest queue times for popular thrill rides like Dawwama and Liwa Loop. During Ramadan, the park typically offers discounted tickets and adjusted hours.
How Long to Spend
Most visitors spend 5–6 hours at Yas Waterworld. Thrill seekers who want to ride everything including the new Matamir zone should plan a full day. Families with young children can comfortably cover the children’s areas, wave pool, lazy river, and a few family rides in 4–5 hours.
Combining with Other Yas Island Attractions
Yas Island is home to several major theme parks within minutes of each other. Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi are both on Yas Island. Multi-park combo tickets are available and offer savings compared to buying individual tickets. Most visitors spend one full day at Yas Waterworld and a separate day for indoor parks.
