How We Ranked These Rides
Ranking theme park rides is always subjective, but we based this list on a combination of factors that matter most to visitors: thrill intensity, queue popularity (which reflects demand), ride technology, visual spectacle, and overall guest satisfaction. We have visited IMG Worlds of Adventure dozens of times as a licensed Dubai tour operator and have gathered feedback from thousands of customers who booked their tickets through Al Baron Tourism at our guaranteed lowest price of AED 190.
1. Velociraptor — The Ultimate Thrill Ride
Nothing else at IMG Worlds of Adventure — or arguably any indoor theme park worldwide — matches the raw intensity of the Velociraptor. This launched coaster catapults riders from a standing start to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds, delivering a force that pins you into your seat before the track even begins its first turn. The ride layout includes steep drops, sharp banking, and sections of near-weightlessness that keep the adrenaline pumping from launch to brake.
Located in the Lost Valley zone, the Velociraptor consistently draws the longest queues in the park. Our top tip: ride it first thing when the park opens or during the last hour before closing. The minimum height requirement is 130 cm, and the ride is not suitable for visitors with heart conditions or back problems.
2. Avengers Battle of Ultron — Best Dark Ride Experience
The Avengers Battle of Ultron in the Marvel Zone is a masterpiece of dark ride engineering. Riders board a vehicle that moves through elaborately themed scenes while 3D projection technology creates the illusion of being in the middle of an Avengers battle against Ultron’s army. The combination of physical movement, wind effects, heat blasts, and crystal-clear 3D visuals makes this one of the most immersive theme park experiences in the Middle East.
Unlike a roller coaster, this ride relies on storytelling and special effects rather than speed and drops, making it accessible to a much wider age range. The minimum height requirement is lower, and the intensity level is moderate — exciting enough for adults but not overwhelming for older children.
3. The Predator — Inversions and Speed
The Predator is Lost Valley’s second major coaster and delivers a very different experience from the Velociraptor. Where the Velociraptor is all about explosive launch speed, the Predator focuses on sustained intensity through inversions, corkscrews, and high-speed turns through a canyon environment populated with animatronic dinosaurs. The ride has a longer duration than the Velociraptor and includes multiple elements that will satisfy coaster enthusiasts looking for variety.
With a minimum height requirement of 120 cm, the Predator is accessible to slightly younger riders than the Velociraptor while still delivering genuine thrills. Queue times for this ride are generally shorter than the Velociraptor, making it an excellent second choice after you have knocked out the park’s number one attraction.
4. Spider-Man Doc Ock’s Revenge — Spinning Coaster Fun
This Marvel Zone attraction combines a spinning coaster mechanism with themed scenes from the Spider-Man universe. Your vehicle rotates freely as it travels through the track, meaning no two rides feel exactly the same — the spinning is unpredictable and adds an element of surprise that traditional coasters lack. The storyline follows Spider-Man’s battle against Doctor Octopus through a series of elaborately designed sets.
Spider-Man Doc Ock’s Revenge sits in a sweet spot between family-friendly and thrill ride, making it perfect for visitors who want something more exciting than children’s rides but are not quite ready for the Velociraptor. It is a crowd favourite across all age groups and rarely has excessively long wait times.
5. Thor Thunder Spin — High-Flying Pendulum
Thor Thunder Spin is a massive pendulum ride located in the Marvel Zone that swings riders in a giant arc high above the zone floor. At its peak, you are suspended at a steep angle looking straight down at the ground far below, and the swinging motion creates intense g-forces that are both exhilarating and stomach-churning in equal measure.
This ride does not have the duration of a roller coaster but packs an incredible amount of intensity into its cycle. It is the kind of attraction that looks intimidating from the ground and feels even more intense once you are strapped in. Not recommended for anyone with a fear of heights or motion sickness.
6. Hulk Epsilon Base 3D — Immersive Storytelling
Hulk Epsilon Base 3D takes you inside a S.H.I.E.L.D. research facility where a Hulk experiment has gone terribly wrong. The experience combines physical sets, 3D projection, motion seating, and special effects to create a storyline-driven adventure that unfolds around you. While not a traditional ride in the roller coaster sense, the level of production quality and immersion makes it one of the most memorable experiences in the park.
This attraction works brilliantly for Marvel fans who appreciate narrative-driven experiences and for families with children who might not meet the height requirements for the bigger coasters. Queue times are generally moderate, making it a reliable mid-day choice.
7. Haunted Hotel — Genuinely Terrifying Walk-Through
The Haunted Hotel in IMG Boulevard is not a ride — it is a live-actor horror walk-through that ranks among the most frightening themed experiences in any Dubai attraction. Professional scare actors lurk in darkened corridors, realistic sets create an atmosphere of genuine dread, and the unpredictable nature of live performance means every visit is different.
Strictly not recommended for children under 15 or anyone who does not handle jump scares well. For horror fans, this is an absolute must-do and a unique offering that most other Dubai theme parks simply do not have. The experience lasts approximately 15 to 20 minutes and has its own dedicated queue separate from the ride lines.
8. Ben 10 5D Hero Time — Best Kids’ Ride
The top-rated attraction in the Cartoon Network Zone, Ben 10 5D Hero Time is a motion simulator that places young riders inside a Ben 10 adventure with 5D effects including wind, water spray, and seat vibration. Children absolutely love it — the combination of a familiar character, motion effects, and age-appropriate intensity makes it the single best ride in the park for visitors under 10 years old.
Queue times for this ride can get long during school holidays and weekends, so consider using a Fast Track ticket (available from AED 220 through Al Baron Tourism) if you are visiting during peak periods with young children who have limited patience for waiting.
9. The Forbidden Territory — Walk-Through Dinosaur Experience
For visitors who love the Lost Valley zone’s prehistoric theme but cannot or do not want to ride the intense coasters, the Forbidden Territory offers a walk-through experience featuring remarkably lifelike animatronic dinosaurs. The attention to detail in the set design is impressive — lush prehistoric vegetation, atmospheric lighting, and sound effects create a convincing sense of having stepped back in time.
This attraction is self-paced, meaning you can take as long as you want to explore and take photos. It is particularly popular with younger children who are fascinated by dinosaurs but too small for the coasters, and with adults who appreciate the craftsmanship of the themed environments.
10. Powerpuff Girls — Mojo Jojo’s Bot Bots
Rounding out our top 10 is the Powerpuff Girls ride in the Cartoon Network Zone — a gentle spinning attraction that is perfect for the youngest visitors at the park. The ride spins at a speed that creates giggles rather than screams, and the colourful Powerpuff Girls theming keeps toddlers and young children thoroughly entertained.
While it will not excite adult thrill-seekers, this ride earns its place on the list for being exactly what it needs to be — a safe, fun, visually appealing experience for very young children who deserve their own highlight moments at the park.
